Description

Indulge in this irresistible Air Fryer Crumble recipe, a dessert that effortlessly combines convenience with comfort. This may be a basic crumble recipe, but I have found it so useful for many other crumble topped desserts I make.  Picture this: a golden-brown, crispy crumble topping, perfectly balanced with the warm, gooey embrace of seasonal fruits, all achieved in the magic of your trusty air fryer.  I also have a couple of tricks up my sleeve which you may find useful for this air fryer recipe!

My first tip, is that I make them in individual tin baking cases ( I shall place the affiliate link below) as I can then choose to make four at once in my air fryer, or just make a couple for myself and the husband.  The remaining crumble topping I simply place in a reusable freezer bag (affiliate link also below) and then use it another day.  The frozen crumble defrosts pretty quickly, so this is a handy dessert to have prepped.

This air fryer dessert is not just a treat for the tastebuds but also a time-saving quick bit of comfort food. Embrace the simplicity of my recipe, whilst allowing yourself to enjoy a delectable dessert in hardly no time.   The air fryer delivers the satisfying crunch of the crumble meeting the luscious juiciness of your chosen fruits.

Easy to make recipe, is at the heart of this Air Fryer Crumble. Why just settle for an air fryer apple crisp or air fryer apple crumble, when there are so many other great fruits to choose from?

Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or simply craving a sweet treat, my Air Fryer Crumble is the answer.

For the video recipe, I have chosen frozen fruits which is one of my other great tips.  Keeping a bag of frozen fruit is so useful and not just to be kept for healthier smoothies and the like!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 200g of frozen fruit (or you can use fresh)
  • 90g Plain Flour
  • 55g Cold cubed butter
  • 55g Demerera Sugar

Instructions

Place the flour and butter in a bowl, and rub the ingredients together until it resembles fine bread crumbs.  Then stir in the Demerara sugar.

Pre-heat your air fryer at 180°c for 2 mins.   Whilst it is heating up, place a generous layer of the fruit in the base of the tins. (Note:  If your fruit is rather sharp, you can sprinkle a little extra sugar over, however I like the tartness of the fruit with the sweet topping.) Then place a good layer of the crumble topping over.

Place the tins into the air fryer and use air fry mode for 13 minutes at 180°c.  I use a Ninja air fryer and usually 13 minutes is enough time.  Other brands of air fryer may just alter the cooking time slightly, but 13 minutes is a reasonable guide.

Serve with cream, ice cream or custard.

Notes

Choose different fruits, and even add things like a small amount of cinnamon to the topping for a change.
