Description

Baked potatoes in air fryer method is such an easy way to cook a crisp jacket potato. Although I love a baked potato in the oven in winter, because it is a great warming snack and heats my house, in the heat of summer the last thing you want is extra oven heat! This method is quicker than an oven too, and probably more cost effective.

One of the questions I get asked is “for a baked potato in the air fryer how long”? Well, first that does tend to come down to how large your potato is, how many you are cooking, and the actual variety of potato. I tend to use Maris Piper variety for my baked potatoes, and my baked potato in air fryer time is around 30-45 minutes. The method used is below in my recipe card plus you can see a super quick video of the method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium sized potatoes
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

Pre heat your air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 210 degrees centigrade

Jab the potato all over with a knife.  Then take the potato and cover in oil and finally cover with salt.

Place in the air fryer and then air fry at 210 degrees centigrade for 30 minutes.  After 15 minutes I turn the potatoes, and cook for a further 15 minutes.  If after 30 minutes they are still not cooked when you prod them with a knife, then keep cooking for 5 minutes at a time.  The potatoes I cooked which are showed in the video took 35 minutes.

Eat straight away so that the skins are crisp.
