Banana oat smoothie recipe that is easy, tasty and inexpensive to make! I love to go on my long trail runs and this is a great way to re-energise on my return. Making this banana smoothie is quick and uses simple ingredients, most of which, we have available at home.
You can even leave out the honey and substitute for something like peanut butter if you wish. I like using my local honey though, as honey has a number of great health benefits.

Banana oat smoothie recipe that is easy, tasty and inexpensive to make! I love to go on my long trail runs and this is a great way to re-energise on my return. Making this banana smoothie is quick and uses simple ingredients, most of which, we have available at home.
Ingredients
- 1 Ice Cube
- 1 Banana
- 80 mls Semi Skimmed milk
- 70 mls Natural yoghurt – I use Yeo Valley Organic
- 1 tbsp Oats
- 1 Tbsp Honey (Optional)
Instructions
Place all the ingredients in a blender (one that can handle ice), pulse the blender first to break the ice, then blitz.
Serve in a glass.
If you don’t have a blender that can cope with crushing ice, place the ice in a bag first, smash it with a rolling pin and then add it!
Notes
You can even leave out the honey and substitute for something like peanut butter if you wish. I like using my local honey though, as honey has a number of great health benefits.
