The “Em Fit” Plan
E – Eating Well
M – Motivation
F – Fitness
I – Inspiration
T – Transformation
I developed this plan for me, and whilst that sounds a bit selfish, I knew I needed to change my lifestyle, to be the best version of myself I can be. At the time of writing, I am aged 48 and heading towards the age of 50. Being brutally honest, prior to this regime, I was not in the best shape that I could be.
There are no gimmicks to my regime. I don’t cut out food groups, I don’t eat only one food type, or go for fad style diets. Most of these fad food plans have drawbacks or something I consider to be an ‘unhealthy’ practice. Some may offer a temporary result, but long term I find are not sustainable. I have always said that the best way to be healthy, is to make it your lifestyle. Eating only one type of food etc, is not in my opinion sustainable. Its all about balance! You will find healthy recipes on my website, under the heading of “Healthy Recipes” and I shall be adding more as I go along.
Although healthy food was already a major part of my life, I knew I should take it up a level or two. I also needed to give greater attention to my physical fitness. Previous illness and back pain often hindered me. However, now I am fitter I have not had so much as a small twinge in my back. I was using illness as an excuse not to exercise. This was a mindset that needed serious change.
The tips and advice I have placed on my site, has been successful for me. I accept no plan has a “one size fits all” approach. Will it work for you? Well, some of that depends on your inner strength and ability to be disciplined. Cheating and cutting corners is not good enough. You either want to be fit and have a healthy life, or you don’t. I can encourage and motivate you, but at the end of the day the buck stops with you!
So why have I shared my regime? First, I never intended to put my regime in the public sphere. However, whilst on my plan, I have had countless people (women in particular) ask me what “diet” I am on or what I am doing? The shape I was previously in 6 months ago is different to how I am now (see below photos). So when people asked for the information, my hands got exhausted at repeatedly sending texts of the information. Hence why I have this section on my site. It makes life easier. Plus if you want some recipe, fitness, health and general inspiration then that can’t be a bad thing!

What I want to make clear, is that it is not a diet. In fact I have written a whole section on how it is not a diet, and how much I loathe the “diet” word with a passion. This is a lifestyle change. Diets for many people equals punishment and this plan is not that. You don’t starve yourself, nor do you remove food groups. It does require some level of commitment and discipline. However, it also allows you to have a blow out and relax every now and again. It is the 90% good and 10% naughty rule. I believe every once in a while you have to let go and have fun with food and down time. Many people (including myself once upon a time) was doing 10% good and 90% naughty. Ok, maybe not quite in that proportion as those who know me, know I’ve always loved healthier foods. That said, I was easily swayed when it came to a cake shop or a glass of rose wine or gin. I now have a more disciplined approach and the way my body looks and feels now, is becoming more important to me than cake and wine. Hard to believe but true. Also exercise is now better than watching a box set… now I never thought I would hear myself say that!
I also believe that as I have removed more of the junk and moved the ass more, I have become mentally stronger and I no longer crave the naughtier food I once did. Weirdly some of the foods I once craved, now seem to taste different and not as fabulous as I thought they were!
Please try and read all sections. Only by understanding how I have done it and the methods and motivation behind it, will it probably make some sense.
As with all things, if you are changing your whole diet, lifestyle and starting exercise, then do things gradually and/or seek advice from a doctor or health professional. Doing it gradually is of great importance. Your body does not like to be shook up. Push yourself once established a couple of months into the plan, but don’t try and go full force at the outset. Do the easier parts such as refining your diet first, because trust me, if you can’t cut out junk and sugar, you are not going to have the discipline on the rest of the plan.
If I can help in any way, please message me or reply to a post. I will do the best I can to encourage you!
Love and encouragement.
