Mars bar cake recipe which is a simple Mars bar cake recipe that the whole family can enjoy. This Mars bar crisp cake recipe made with golden syrup, is a no bake cake recipe. When my children were little, this was one of their favourite chocolate treats to eat. Even now, they may be older but they still say “Mum, pleeeease make that mars bar crispy cake thing ..”
You can substitute the rice krispies for cornflakes for your Mars bar slice. Although in the video, I make this in one tin (for convenience) you can make individual portions, by following the same method, but putting into muffin cases. This is useful if you want to make mars bar crispy cakes for a birthday party.

Description
Mars bar cake recipe which is a simple Mars bar cake recipe that the whole family can enjoy. This Mars bar crispy cake recipe made with golden syrup is a no bake cake recipe. When my children were little, this was one of their favourite chocolate treats to eat. Still to this day I get repeatedly asked by them to “please make that mars bar crispy cake thing…”
You can substitute the rice krispies for cornflakes for your Mars bar slice. Although in the video I make this in one tin (for convenience) you can make individual portions, by following the same method, but putting into muffin cases. This is useful if you want to make mars bar crispy cakes for a birthday party.
Ingredients
- 80g Butter
- 2 Tbsp Golden Syrup
- 4 Mars Bars Chopped (157g)
- 80g Rice Krispies or Cornflakes
- 200g Milk Chocolate (good quality) or you can use dark or half dark and half milk chocolate
- 80g Mini Eggs (Or another topping of your choice such as Maltesers)
Instructions
Line a tin, or alternatively place individual baking cases into a muffin tin.
Melt the butter and golden syrup in a pan gently. Add in the chopped mars bars and stir to melt.
Place the rice krispies or cornflakes into a bowl. Pour over the melted mars bar mix and stir well to coat. Press well into the tin or baking cases, ensuring the sides have no gaps.
With a bowl of hot water simmering on a stove, place a further bowl over to melt the 200g chocolate. Do ensure that the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl with the chocolate in, or it can spoil. Once melted pour over the rice krispies in the tin/baking cases. Smooth out.
Then whilst the chocolate is still melted, place in your toppings. I like to crush mini eggs and pop them over, or another favourite is flake pieces and Maltesers.
Place in the fridge for around 2 hours to set.
